BARACK OBAMA ELECTED PRESIDENT

More "I Love Obama" inspired food creations. In America, we usually give key chains, t-shirts etc.  for souvenirs but in Japan they give food. Usually the food that is popular in that prefecture or country. Perhaps, this helps many of us understand why Japanese created food.

Support.

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.

Obama City made Obama Saki, Obama fish burgers, Obama chopsticks and Obama sweets.
The Obama Statue.
America's new leaders President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden

The organization plotted the states Obama won. (Sort of like pin the tail on the donkey.)

Victory declared.

The BIG Day...
November 5, 2008- Obama, Japan had a huge celebration for election day. The town was so optimistic and determined to party despite the outcome.

The USA Apparel:Obama T-Shirt & Hat

Two days later, in Newark, NJ I got this cap.

August 2008, I was home. I got this great t-shirt from Atlanta, GA. I loved this gift!

Berlin, Germany

It was July 24, 2008, when I watched this speech during a layover in Detroit. I was returning home. I remember feeling so proud in that airport.

I was the only sister in the airport lounge watching the speech. I was so proud of the new positive image of black people.

It was refreshing to see a smart, cool educated man.

Obama vs. McCain

Sunday, February 1, 2009 - During the autumn season, we witnessed tragic campaign tactics, debates and finally defeat. From Sen. Obama's fist bump with his wife to the rise and fall of Sarah Palin to waiting painstakingly on election night to see the results.

Strategy , which is a well thought out plan, is important if goals are to be achieved. I did not know Sen. McCain's strategy towards the end of the race. Many people were appalled because he chose Palin as the vice presidential running mate yet I understood this move. However, the actions followed thereafter were not quite so clear, at least, in Japan.

Obama stayed the path. He did not deviate from his message. In fact, he repeated it so much I started to say it in my sleep. He branded the phrase "Yes, We Can", sought young people and used the advancements in technology throughout the entire campaign. Two of these moves were unprecedented. I mean, he drove home the message, while being inclusive of all people.

Luck = Preparation + Opportunity.

Primary Victory!

Enjoy the video (made in the U.S. , summer 2008). My aunt's excitement about her Obama, Japan T-shirt omiyiage, which means souvenir in English, and her son's vocal talents.

They made their own Obama song. ;-) Obama, Japan watch out. ;-)

Wednesday, June 4, 2008 - We finally have a democratic presidential nominee.

I am very proud. Congratulations Pres. nominee Barack Obama. We cheered for you consistently in Obama, Japan.

It's been a long time....

Tuesday, January 13, 2009 - Many things have happened from April through June, especially the primaries and caucuses battles between Senators Obama and Clinton. The Republicans patiently waited for the fiasco to end.

It was even a short battle in Japan. A company who made tools called Hillary cheered for New York Sen. Hillary Clinton while Obama, Japan continued to cheer for Sen. Barack Obama.

My computer broke during this time. Now we are back to our regularly scheduled program.

New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson Endorses Senator Obama

Friday, March 21, 2008 - What a courageous act, made by the New Mexico governor, breaking political loyalty from the Clinton's. I was surprised by this move. On the one hand, I value loyalty so I questioned his political choice. On the other hand, it takes bold steps to bring about change from what has been done.

The move was surely aligned with Senator Obama's campaign direction. What do you think?
