Obama vs. McCain

Sunday, February 1, 2009 - During the autumn season, we witnessed tragic campaign tactics, debates and finally defeat. From Sen. Obama's fist bump with his wife to the rise and fall of Sarah Palin to waiting painstakingly on election night to see the results.

Strategy , which is a well thought out plan, is important if goals are to be achieved. I did not know Sen. McCain's strategy towards the end of the race. Many people were appalled because he chose Palin as the vice presidential running mate yet I understood this move. However, the actions followed thereafter were not quite so clear, at least, in Japan.

Obama stayed the path. He did not deviate from his message. In fact, he repeated it so much I started to say it in my sleep. He branded the phrase "Yes, We Can", sought young people and used the advancements in technology throughout the entire campaign. Two of these moves were unprecedented. I mean, he drove home the message, while being inclusive of all people.

Luck = Preparation + Opportunity.
